Emirates Post Group has issued a commemorative stamp, in collaboration with the University of Sharjah, to honour the remarkable journey of the academic institution as it celebrates its Silver Jubilee. This special initiative marks 25 years of excellence, progress, and invaluable contributions of the University in fostering academic excellence and research in the UAE.

Since its establishment in 1997, the University of Sharjah has been dedicated to realising the visionary aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. With a commitment to nurturing a diverse and inclusive learning environment, the University has been an integral pillar in the UAE's educational landscape for the past 25 years, shaping the minds of countless students and contributing significantly to the nation's development.

The commemorative stamp holds a significant place as it symbolises the University’s relentless commitment to nurturing talent, advancing innovation, and shaping the future of education in the Emirate of Sharjah. The stamp pays tribute to the University's dedication to helping students thrive academically, enabling them to achieve unparalleled learning outcomes. Furthermore, it recognises the institution's significant role in advancing scientific research and innovation in the UAE.

His Excellency Professor Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, commended the fruitful collaboration with Emirates Post Group. He expressed his appreciation for the Group’s dedication in issuing the commemorative stamp which embodies the University’s significant feats achieved on local, regional and international levels. He added that the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and Founder of the University of Sharjah, has been instrumental in establishing the University as a comprehensive educational research body over the past 25 years.

Dr Al Nuaimi further elaborated that under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and the President of the University, the institution has been able to achieve tangible progress and success. He pointed out that the University has become one of the largest local and regional universities as well as earned global prestigious status academically, scientifically, and methodologically among the top universities. This recognition is in line with the latest assessments conducted by international organizations specializing in global university evaluations.

Dr Al Nuaimi stated that the University of Sharjah has substantially grown since its founding and has been able to provide its educational services through its three branches in Khor Fakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid. “These branches have evolved into independent universities, dedicated to serving the respective cities. Their primary mission is to make high-quality education accessible to the local and regional communities. To achieve this, we have distinguished faculty comprising graduates, researchers, and scientists.”

As one of the leading scientific and research universities in the region, the University of Sharjah earned a prestigious ranking from the country's Ministry of Education, in addition to being ranked among the top 300 universities globally in Times Higher Education’s (THE) ranking for 2023.
