Our history

First postal agency opened in the Emirate of Dubai, affiliated to and managed by Indian Post Office Services.

First letter posted from a Dubai postal service via Sharjah Airport.

The Agency became an integrated Post Office providing all basic services.

Management of Post Office came under the supervision of Pakistani Administration.

Dubai Postal management transferred to British administration after the independence of India and Pakistan.

Issue of the first set of stamps of the Trucial States in Dubai.

Opening of post offices in emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Establishment of General Directorate of Postal Services under Ministry of Communications.

Issuing of first set of ordinary stamps bearing the name of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The United Arab Emirates joins the Universal Postal Union.

General Postal Authority established.

Federal Decree establishing Emirates Postal Establishment (Emirates Post) issued

Establishment of Emirates Post Group Holding, with Emirates Post becoming a subsidiary of the Group.

Federal Law No. 3 of 2013 issued concerning the establishment of "Emirates Post Group" legal presence and capability to undertake the necessary actions and business activities to achieve its objectives and have an independent budget. In addition, both Emirates Post and Empost are to be merged as an operational unit part of the group.

Became the world’s first postal entity to receive the TISSE2012 (The International Standard for Service Excellence)

Recognized as the world’s fastest postal delivery service (Integrated Index of Postal Development)

UAE ranked 8th in the world’s top 10 countries for International Express Mail Services and first in the Middle East region (for 2017 numbers)

Federal Law No. 21 of 2019 issued transforming Emirates Post Group into a Public Joint Stock Company fully owned by Emirates Investment Authority (EIA), and become known as “Emirates Post Group Company”, and continue to oversee the operations of its current subsidiaries
