Emirates Post Group (EPG), in association with the Department of Tourism and Archaeology in Umm Al Quwain, has issued commemorative stamps, along with a souvenir sheet and postcard, to honour the Ed-dour archaeological site, which is one of the largest local settlements in Umm Al Quwain’s coastline dating back to the Roman era, from the late first century BC to third century AD. The stamps were launched by Sheikh Majid bin Saud Al Mualla, Chairman of the Umm Al Quwain Tourism and Archaeology Department in the presence of Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of Emirates Post Group, at the Umm Al Quwain Creative Centre.

Sheikh Majid bin Saud Al Mualla underlined the importance of such initiatives which are aimed at highlighting and promoting the historical monuments of the UAE. “This initiative significantly contributes to preserving and reviving the local heritage, which is part of the country’s history, by strengthening the UAE’s identity and familiarizing future generations with their national heritage in cooperation with various national institutions,” he added.
